The Métis National Heritage Centre will be a place for Métis Citizens to tell their story. It will also provide Canadians with an opportunity to learn about the heritage, language, culture, methods of governance, and contributions of the Métis Nation before, during, and after Confederation. The monumental redevelopment of 335 Main will include upgrades of all building systems, roof, and windows to ensure sustainability for the next 100 years. The iconic Heritage building at the intersection of Portage and Main will also provide a contemporary cultural space, artist in residence, and offices for citizenship, language, culture and heritage. This two-storey building includes over 37,000 square feet of commercial space for redevelopment. The intended use will primarily be as office space accommodation for multiple departments and affiliate businesses of the MMF, the National Government of the Red River Métis.

As the development partner of the National Government of the Red River Métis – Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF), we are committed to Canada’s goal to plant 2 billion trees by 2030 in an effort to combat climate change and loss of biodiversity. The tree nursery will be developed in 3 phases, commencing with a Harnois Luminosa greenhouse for 1 million seedlings. we are committed to the construction of the MMF Tree Nursery. This project will enable the MMF to fulfil its commitment to plant 2 million trees in support of Canada’s goal to plant 2 billion trees by 2030. These environmentally significant commitments are in effort to combat climate change and loss of biodiversity. The tree nursery will be developed in 3 phases, commencing with a 50,000sq.ft. Harnois Luminosa gutter style greenhouse with the capacity to produce 2 million seedlings annually. Green jobs and economic opportunities are part of this important project led by the department of Energy, Infrastructure, and Natural Resources for the Manitoba Métis Federation.
The scope of work will include site development and servicing with assembly and commissioning of the Harnois greenhouse structure. An open competition RFP is anticipated to be posted on this website in winter 2022 for construction in 2023.
